Cronuts Not Your Ordinary Donuts

Finally I got a chance to make a blog post. I'm so behind the schedule and happenings. With the social media, spreading of news is so fast like a blink of eyes. And for that we easily get informed with the latest buzz, and craze of the world. Noticing food trending, they're like food become fame and like celebrities starred and feature in many blogs and Instagram postings. Everyone is going gaga to try and taste the food and be part of the craze. For instance, here in the Philippines when J Co. Donuts was introduced, it became a talk of the town. Long line start to form outside the store, look OA but it is true, people waiting just to get a hand on this Indonesian brand Donuts. Now there's a new food star invading the social media. This food started out in New York City by Chef Ansel. He originated the Cronuts which is a hybrid version of a Donuts. Cronuts is a combination of Croissant and Donut. New Yorker's go gaga with this and become an internet buzz. Of course, Filipinos don't want to get behind on this French Donuts, local bakeshops and restos made a copycat version of Cronuts. The original still be the best but you have to travel to New York for that. To fill my curiosity on this French Donuts I got a chance to try one at Cafe France during the Fashion Week.

Cafe France own version of Cronuts comes in three different flavors, Lemon Custard, Salted Caramel and Classic Chocolate. I chose the Classic Chocolate since am a big fan of the flavor. Basically Cronuts has a base of a Croissant with Donuts approach. In Cafe France they sell this for 99 pesos each. A little bit expensive compared to your Krispy Kreme.

Above is the actual Cronut I got from Cafe France, sorry for the photos coz I'm no expert on this. Have to learn more to give you a quality photos.

Cronuts is deep fried just like the regular Donuts, but the difference on this, is the layering of crispy thin dough that made the base. At first I find it nothing much to offer, think to myself it is just like an Otap made posh, crispy and tasty. But when the chocolate filling oozing out and hit my taste buds, I find it yummy. With its simple ingredients and presentation, you got a doubt it doesn't offer an extraordinary pleasure especially if you got a sweet tooth and find Krispy Kreme still tasteful. But this food star is for sure a sure big hit, an attention grabbing food that offers a simple pleasure. Nothing sweet overload and perfect to match your favorite coffee mix. Its crispiness is what set apart from your regular Donuts.  I wasn't able to get a chance to try other flavors because the Classic Chocolate only left on the basket since its already late night when I hit the store. But for sure I still want to try other flavor of other restos.

Other Cronuts you may want to try.
